Join in the fun on Saturday, June 28, from 1-5 PM, when we once again open our cellar doors and invite you to taste our latest award winning wines in the vineyards and the cellar where they were created. There will be live music, food, wine blending and wine aging demonstrations, and a whole lotta fun. If the weather cooperates, we will have two tasting stations in the vineyards where you can taste wines in the vineyard where they were grown. This will provide you with an opportunity to visit two of the most picturesque spots on the farm while you taste our Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and Chardonnay wines. Like last year, Chef Jerome's BBQ ribs, smoked chicken, burgers and bratwursts will be We always try to mix a little education in with the fun, and this year is no exception. You will be able to experience the art of blending and the magic of wine aging. Taste the Meritage components and the final blend - see why blending often yields a better wine than any of the components. Then see how barrel aging softens harsh tannins as you taste the recently barreled 2007 Meritage against an older wine that has spent a year in barrels. Finally taste a wine that has been aged too long (it won't taste like vinegar) to see what happens when wine is aged past its prime. Besides all of the fun, this is your chance to replenish your wine supplies at substantial savings. Most of the released wines tasted at this event will be specially priced at 25-30% OFF the regular price. This special pricing applies to STRAIGHT CASES ONLY (12 of a kind). Purchases of 4 or more cases (mix & match whole cases) will receive a 30% discount, so you may want to pool your orders with your family and friends. Although all cases must be straight cases, not all cases in an order need to be the same wine. Please note that we are excluding limited production wines such as Traminette and Edelzwicker from the sale. The price of admission is still only $7.50/adult, which includes a souvenir Fenn Valley logo wine glass, a glass of wine of your choice, and admission to the wine blending and aging demos. Last year we had over 1100 people attend this event, and there were times when there were long lines for food and wine. We think that we have that problem solved – at least it worked at our “Blues in the Vineyard” last July. We’re doing everything that we can to make this a fun and enjoyable experience for wine lovers of all age groups. Finally, reservations speed the entry process but are not necessary. If you don’t like the lines at the gate, call ahead and you will be able to pick up your glass and tasting tickets at a special “Prepaid Express Gate”.
