First Saturday in December

Come and taste the first wine from this fall’s vintage. We’ll have the featured Nouveau, hors d’oeuvre, cellar tasting/tours, and plenty of space to visit with friends and relatives over a glass of Nouveau. What a great way to kick off the holiday season!
The Nouveau tradition originated in France where the first wine of the vintage is released on the first weekend following November 15. The release of the French Nouveau is met with much revelry and fanfare, which is why the release date had to be moved from the 15th to the following weekend.
This festive tradition has spilled across the Atlantic to this country, and Fenn Valley got caught up in the spirit of the occasion in 1992 when we produced our first Nouveau. Because we use a late ripening grape variety to make our Nouveau, our release date was moved from the traditional date to the first Saturday in December. Fenn Valley Nouveau may be a little "late", but it is every bit as good!
Unlike a traditional Nouveau from France, Fenn Valley's Nouveau ages extremely well and is often even more enjoyable after it has aged two or three years in the bottle. Many of our "more experienced" Nouveau fans purchase enough Nouveau to enjoy throughout this holiday season and to set a few bottles aside for next year as well. We plan to open some of the older vintages for you to taste so that you can see for yourself just how well these marvelous wines age.
Doug and Eric will be present to join in the festivities and to answer any questions that you might have about the wine or the vintage in general. We will be offering informative guided tours of the wine cellar where you will have an opportunity to sample some of the spectacular wines from the vintage.
The supply is very limited, so you will have to be among the first if you hope to grab any of this gem. As if this isn’t enough to entice you to make the trek to Fenn Valley, we are offering an additional 5% discount on any wine purchase of 12 bottles or more (excluding bulk wine). Bring family & friends and enjoy a pleasant afternoon touring the cellar and sipping this delightful, fresh, new wine.
